Frequently asked questions

Here you'll find answers to your questions about the Homebatteries.co.uk quote service. If you've already submitted a request through the form, you'll find information about this under the Your request section.

Your request

I've submitted a request. What happens now?

You'll receive an email from us confirming your request has been received. The email will include a list of the installers who will be in touch with you.

The installers will contact you by email or phone. They may also wish to arrange a home visit to put together a suitable proposal. You can then accept an offer that works for you or reject all offers.

The choice is entirely yours either way, our service is free.

I've submitted a request but nobody has contacted me yet. Why?

In most cases it can take 1–2 days before you hear from the installers. If you haven't been contacted by any installer after 3 working days, you can email us at contact@homebatteries.co.uk and we'll look into what's happened.

I've changed my mind about submitting a request. Can you remove it?

Email us at contact@homebatteries.co.uk and we'll help you remove your request.

Can I decline my offers?

Yes. You're never committed to anything when using Homebatteries.co.uk, and it's entirely up to you whether an offer suits you or not.

Can you help me choose an installer?

Unfortunately not. Homebatteries.co.uk is an independent marketplace and we are only responsible for the matching process. We don't get involved in the process between you and the installers and cannot influence your decision.

Why have I only been matched with one installer?

Normally you'll be contacted by several installers (up to a maximum of 4). Sometimes this isn't the case, and it can be down to a number of factors, such as where you live and the type of installation you're looking for.

I was told no installers could offer me quotes. Why?

Sometimes we're unable to find installers that match your needs. This may be because we don't have any connected installers in your area or for the type of installation you're looking for. It could also be that the connected companies are fully booked at the moment.

I'm having a problem with an installer. What should I do?

If you've encountered a problem with an installer, you should in the first instance contact the company directly.

Sometimes you may need outside help. There are several organisations that work to support consumers:

  • Citizens Advice — Can provide free advice on your consumer rights and help with disputes.
  • Trading Standards — Investigates businesses that are breaking consumer protection laws.
  • The Ombudsman Services — Offers dispute resolution between consumers and companies.
  • Which? — Provides guidance and support for consumers on products and services.

Handling of personal data

Do you comply with GDPR?

Yes. Nettbureau AS, which owns and operates Homebatteries.co.uk, complies with UK GDPR data protection regulations.

Why do you need my personal details?

Your address and contact details are needed to match you with battery installation companies that operate in your area. The other information we ask for in the form is used to select installers who work with the type of installation you're looking for.

What are my personal details used for?

Homebatteries.co.uk passes your personal details to selected home battery installation companies so they can provide you with quotes. You'll be notified by email of which companies your details have been shared with.

Your information is only used to provide you with quotes within 30 days. It will not be used for anything else or passed on further. Read more in our privacy policy.

Do you store my personal details?

Nettbureau AS, which owns and operates Homebatteries.co.uk, stores your personal details for as long as is relevant for generating offers, but for a maximum of five years. Normally all data is deleted within six months.

We closely follow the data retention rules set out in UK GDPR. If you'd like all information about you to be deleted immediately, email data@nettbureau.no and we'll make sure that happens.

How do you protect my personal information?

Will you send marketing emails to my inbox?

No, we don't have mailing lists and don't send any form of marketing by email. The only emails you'll receive from us are the confirmation that you've submitted the form, and the opportunity to leave a review.

Why am I seeing ads from you in my inbox?

If you use Gmail, you may see ads in your inbox. It can look as though we've sent you something, but that's not the case — Gmail is simply an advertising platform used by Google. Homebatteries.co.uk sometimes pays for ads, which is why we may appear there.

If you don't want to see ads in your inbox, you can organise it using Google's default settings (Primary, Social, Promotions), which will keep ads out of your primary inbox. Find out how on Google's support pages.
